EDITORIAL
Welcome to the fifth edition of the International Journal of Anglo-Indian Studies. The present edition of the Journal begins with an interview of Dr. Christopher Hawes by Glenn D'Cruz about Hawes's book Poor Relations. The interview of Hawes is followed by an article written by Professor Roy Dean Wright and his son Ehren. Professor Wright has become a regular contributor to the IJAIS and his article deals with a group of aged Anglo-Indians and how they are maintaining their identity in an old persons home in Delhi. The third article is by Blair R. Williams who suggests that in a generation or two there won't be any Anglo-Indians left. Further, Williams argues that if the Anglo-Indians are to merge into their host societies they must do so at a high socio-economic level. This issue of the IJAIS concludes with a critique of Hawes's work by Dr. Megan M. Mills who was one of the early contributors to the IJAIS.
