FRIDELL, James BlaiseBrigadier, Indian Army.
He served as a gunner and raised a regiment in 1954 in Dehra Dun. Fought in the Indo/Pakistan battle in 1969. He died five years ago in Australia aged 85 years.

James Blaise Eliot FRIDELL was born in Calcutta on 3 February 1920. He joined the Army during World War II as a supply officer. After the war he joined the Artillery as a gunner and served proudly in the Indian Army for 26 years. In 1956, as a Lt. Colonel, he raised the 39 Medium Regiment at Clement Town, Dehradun from the Sikh Coys of 1/13 Frontier Force Rifles, the veterans of the Second World War. Since then the regiment has served all over India from Sikkim in the east to the deserts of Rajasthan in the west and in Jummu and Kashmir in the north. As a Brigadier, James Fridell saw active action in Rajouri in 1964 against Pakistan . Brig. Fridell retired in 1966 and emigrated with his family to Australia. He died on 11 June 2005.

Galibardy, JoeHockey Player who played in the 1936 Olympic Games and represented India. Mr. Galibardy was a Gold Medalist in these games. He now resides in the London, England, and at 91 is still going strong.

Grant, EricEric Grant, was a Calcutta Police Inspector and a well-known amateur sportsman in the late 1930s and 1940s. He was a rugby prop forward, a hockey player and an occasional boxer, losing in an ABA Golden Gloves final to "Baby" Arathoon, the heavyweight champion of India, Burma and Ceylon.
