THE ANGLO-INDIAN VISION
BY Gloria. J. Moore

From the Introduction to The Anglo-Indian Vision

"This book has sought to redress a little of the massive imbalance of deliberate
distortion, misunderstanding, ignorance and hackneyed views about a remarkable
people with a fine and civilised history, rich in humanity, who have suffered
purely because they were pioneers; a transitional group who challenged prejudice
hundreds of years ago.

The Anglo-Indian contribution to the world is not the question of 'difficulties'
of a minority or marginal group. It is a shining example, a little known history
of centuries of transcendence of plagues such as inequality of class and race
prejudice."
(Gloria Moore in the last chapter of The Anglo-Indian Vision)

Gloria Moore has written a sensitive and very readable history of the
Anglo-Indian people which will make a fine addition to any bookshelf in the
home or library.

THE LOTUS AND THE ROSE: AN ANGLO-INDIAN STORY
BY Gloria. J. Moore

From the Introduction by Peter Spyker, MP. Minister for Ethnic Affairs Victoria, Australia.

Gloria Jean Moore's history of an Anglo Indian family or cluster of families does not attempt to be the technical work of
a historian, or a full collection of documents, but more simply and, from a certain viewpoint, more interestingly, the
"impressionist" portrayal of the Thomsons, the Cummmings and the McGills. The book is based on oral and written
records and sources, handed down from generation to generation...
The narration begins with the bloody 1857 Mutiny and ends with the establishment of sections of the family in
Australia after a temporary peregrination and settlement in England...
