EDITORIAL


Welcome to the sixth edition of the International Journal of Anglo-Indian Studies. The present edition of the Journal begins with an article by Dr. Megan Mills who discusses the history of the Anglo-Indians in India as as a Christian Community and some of the problems that are now developing as a result of a less tolerant Hindu majority. The second article is by Dr. Lional Caplan who discusses the immigration of Anglo-Indians in terms of the process of globalisation and transnationalism. The third article is by Esther Lyons who writes about her own experiences as an Anglo-Indian in Australia and the problems she has experienced in explaining her ethnic identity to Australians.

CONTRIBUTIONS

The editor will consider for publication short articles or research notes dealing with the Anglo-Indians. The issues covered in the articles may range from history, sociology and psychology to econometrics. Preference will be given to pieces emphasising current research data that might not otherwise be published.
